I am an employee of Jade Software Corporation Ltd., where I am a Software Developer at the Jade Development Centre.
The shop-front of the organisation is Jade Software Corp. Ltd. and our key product is Jade, an object-oriented development and deployment environment for enterprise computing

| Apple Computers |
I am a founding member of the Apple Users Group of Canterbury Incorporated.
When time is available, I develop software for Macintosh computers, and provide support for some of the old Apple II computers still in use in the local community.

| Scuba Diving |
I am an active scuba diver, with an intention of developing my interest in underwater photography,
both digital photos and digital video. The occasional fresh sea-food is also appreciated.
I am a PADI Master Scuba Diver and Assistant Instructor, and an SSI DiveCon.

| Photography |
I use both a 35mm Nikonos V camera, and a Sony digital video camera for underwater photography. The merging of photography with digital processing on the computer points to an obvious forthcoming direction.
For snaps of travel and family events, the trusty Pentax Spotmatic (now 30 yrs old!) still provides good service,
but is now being replaced by a modern digital camera.

| Science Fiction |
I am a keen reader of science fiction and fantasy, and include a fairly large collection of favourites in my library. A private gaggle of budding authors in the family provide further 'hot-off-the-pen' reading. |
| Family Tree |
I am interested is putting together an up-to-date family tree of our Fitchett Family.
A number of distinct Fitchett families lived in the Derbyshire/Leicestershire/Lincolnshire area in the early 1800's.
A member of a Fitchett family from Bretby (near Derby) emigrated to Wellington in New Zealand. Four members of a
Fitchett family from Grantham emigrated to Geelong (near Melbourne, Australia), and a descendant from there emigrated
to New Zealand, to Wanganui, then Christchurch, and finally Dunedin. I am descended from this latter family. .

I love to travel, especially if someone else is paying!
My travelling began while I was at university, with 3 sea trips to Antarctica, and a flight to Australia. Since then I have visited the Cook Islands, Canada, Fiji, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Singapore, Tahiti, United Kingdom, and USA.
